The mission of the Friends of Weeki Wachee State Park is to promote the
of the Weeki Wachee Springs State Park.
It is important to know that all of the gate receipts from the park go into a General Revenue Fund in Tallahassee. Only a small portion of the revenue generated by the Park is returned to it for operations. It's for this reason the Friends of Weeki Wachee State Park was established - to raise money to supplement the Park's reduced annual budget and staff, and provide funding for park improvements.
Our support is generated through memberships, fundraising events and programs, matching grants, merchandise sales, and donations. We are recognized as the leading advocate for the Weeki Wachee Springs State Park. 100% of the money received through our fundraising endeavors goes directly into the Park in the way of building and grounds repairs, landscaping, improved handicapped access, educational outreach and children's areas. Friends is also proud to provide support to the Park's hardworking staff and more importantly, the preservation of the Park's natural beautiful!
